Adding images onto your drawings

Updated over a week ago

Method 1: Upload Image

Identify the image you want to import and download it to your computer locally.

The image can be a house plan, satellite photo or any other image which is saved as a PNG/JPEG image file.

Create a new drawing and click on the image icon in the Drawing Tool Toolbox.

Click on the "browse" link to upload your image file from your PC. It will automatically select itself and insert onto the drawing canvas.

When it has inserted, you can move it to any part of the canvas.

Use the Object Settings panel to crop and manipulate the image.

This drawing shows an uploaded house plan which has been overlaid with assets (termites found icons)..

The same approach can be taken for satellite images or other types of plans.

Method 2: Copy+Paste (Laptop/PC Only)

The canvas supports using keyboard shortcuts CTRL+C (Copy) and CTRL+V (Paste) to automatically paste images onto the canvas from an external source without needing to upload them to Mira.

In Windows for example, select the Snipping tool and take a screenshot of a satellite photo from Google Maps, and then use the paste command to add it straight to the drawing.
