To begin creating a new Client click on the "Create" button at the bottom right hand side of the window.

Start by selecting whether your client is an individual or a business/generic client. followed by their first and last names.

Then, add in optional details such as an email address, phone number or address.

Remember to click "Create" once you've finished filling out their profile.

Client Connect Request - If you enter an email address for this client, you can select if you would like to send an invitation to use Client Connect. For more information on Client Connect please see the How to Link a Client with Client Connect article.

Phone Numbers / Addresses / Email Addresses - You can add more than one of each. Click on the "Add Phone/Address/Email" button and select which type of phone number / address / email you are adding.

How did you hear about us? - Tag the client of how they heard about your business. You can add a default list of options for this dropdown in Settings > System Defaults > Clients.

Roles - Assign the client a role label. This can be things like Property Manager or Tenant to add glanceable information to understand your clients role.

Land Classification - Assign the client a land classification label. This denotes the type of building / land / structure the client resides in and how the type of work is classified. This can be things like Residential and Commercial.

Default Invoice Due Date - Set an amount of days that the customer has to pay a new invoice

Strata Number - Assign the client an identifier used on Strata specific jobs.

Inventory Markup Percentage - Enter a non-negative percentage to mark up all Inventory Items in your accounting documents when this client is attached to the document.

Preferred Communication Method - Select how the client would prefer to be communicated via - either email or SMS.

  • If the client is selected as "Business/Generic", you can choose to use a specified Contact Name on any communications with them instead their business name

  • You can disable creating reminders (by default) for this client (for new items such as appointment messages and invoice payment reminders).

Note - You can add a custom note for your client, for example if they have dangerous dogs or a security pin to access the property.
